Monday, 05 April 2004 05:18

It has been long and successful career for Salman khan. Over the years, after Shahrukh khan, he has been most successful in box office. Salman khan has been superstar in his own right. He has given maximum hits and super hits but has never made noise about it. The sad part is that film award ceremonies have always been unfair to him.

He has once won Filmfare's best supporting actor award for his sweet performance in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in 1999. Salman khan was personally surprised with this award. Manoj Bajpai for 'Satya' was favourite for that year. Salman khan has always told he cares more for reward then award. He is happy with Audience loving him.

Somewhere in his heart, he would have feeling of winning best actor award for once in life. This will be perfect satisfaction for his glorious career.

Salman khan has been nominated for best actor five times in his career for Filmfare awards. He was nominated in 1990 for 'Maine Pyar Kiya' and 1996 for 'Karan Arjun'.

In 1999, he was nominated for his role in 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya', which got him superstardom. In 2000, he was nominated for his performance in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. This year, he was nominated for his career best performance in 'Tere Naam', he was nominated for best actor in all these Filmfare awards.

Salman Khan has also been nominated for best supporting actor in Filmfare thrice in his career. He was nominated for films 'Jeet', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Bagbhan' in the year 1998, 1999 and 2004 respectively. He was lucky only in 1999. Salman was also nominated for best comic role for 'Biwi No. 1' in 2000.

Salman was very close to winning best actor award this year for 'Tere Naam'. This year has been good for him. Salman has been part of two successful hits like 'Garv' and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karoge'. He is also been critically acclaimed for his supporting role in 'Phir Milenge'. We can look forward to his nominations for best actor for his mind-blowing performance in 'Garv' and also for supporting role in 'Phir Milenge'.

Awards or no awards Salman Khan has created his own brand name and is a superstar in his own way. But its very much sure that like all these previous years he WON'T get any award, maybe because he doesn't pays for buying these awards.
