Well, the reason could have been her beau Salman Khan's late arrival. Apparently, he almost did not make it to the party and drove down from his Panvel farmhouse at the last minute. The actors really looked like they were not having a FUN birthday party. And when they got in to the car together, Katrina's ma followed to chaperone.

Well, looked like Katrina did not want her sexy face to be photographed either. Unless she was actually crying and did not want it to show. Whatever it was, it didn't look like it was a birthday she'd like to remember.

While neither Katrina nor Salman seemed to have a good time, the media sure had a ball. Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri walked in and looked breathtaking as always. There's something about this couple that makes them eternal, ethereal and oh so HOT! And that has nothing to do with fame. We can think of at least five famous couples who don't look anything like them.

But soon Gauri Khan was separated from her Baadshah by good friend Karan Johar. Though Gauri did not look like she was enjoying whatever Karan wanted her to see, Karan Johar seemingly had a wonderfully enjoyable moment here. And he did not even forget to say 'CHEESE' for the camera.

But please do notice the striking red Dolce and Gabbana belt Karan was sporting. Everything else was just fine - the jacket, the T, the jeans...but why the belt?

Aamir Khan may have called Shah Rukh his dog (or was it the other way around?) but he sure didn't mind being seen here. Katrina's birthday thus became the first event in YEARS to have seen the three Khans together.

The most happening couple of B'wood this year, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were also there. They are and were inseparable at the party as well. Looked like their love-life was going strong...and again that made us feel doubly sad for Katrina and Salman!

Karisma Kapoor was glowing at the party. But she came with the Sanjay Kapoor, who isn't t her husband. The actor who was her co-star in Shakti accompanied the actress. Maybe this Sanjay Kapoor wanted to come real bad but missed an invite and since Karisma's card must've said Sanjay and Karisma Kapoor, he came along. Hee hee hee. Just speculating! Well, similar names in the industry can be really troublesome...remember the recent fight over similar movie names?

Many directors were present for the party...Prakash Jha, Kunal Kohli and so on...But the MOST interesting was Mr Subhash Ghai. As in, we're sure all of them are really interesting people but what made this man visually interesting was his rather cool T-shirt. Now that's what we'd call 'very different and rather interesting'.

He may forget the trust vote in Parliament but he wouldn't for the life of it miss this party. That's Govinda for you in a purple shirt... beating Subhash Ghai hands down!

Katrina was there. Her mom was there. Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, his wife and their sister... all were there. So why not mommy Helen? The bikini babe from the days of cabaret and bar dancers, looked as good as ever in a red and black printed saree.
