Producer Afzal Khan will surely be chanting God Tussi Great Ho. The Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected the ad-interim relief sought by Shemaroo Entertainment to restrain Khan from assigning the satellite rights of the film God Tussi Great Ho to a third party.

Shemaroo had moved the HC seeking enforcement of an agreement that it claimed to have entered with Khan for the satellite telecast rights of the romantic comedy starring Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan. The film, a remake of Hollywood film Bruce Almighty, is scheduled to be released on August 15.

Shemaroo claimed that as per its agreement with Khan it bought the film’s satellite rights for Rs7 crore, which was to be paid in instalments on certain specified dates. The rights were to be transferred six months after the film’s release. Khan had opposed Shemaroo’s plea stating that it had terminated the agreement as Shemaroo had failed to make the payments on time. Khan reportedly has assigned the satellite rights of the film to Eros International.

Dismissing the notice of motion filed by Shemaroo, Justice VM Kanade asked Khan to deposit in court the Rs2.85 crore received from Shemaroo. The suit, still to be admitted, will be heard in due course.
