Salman has suddenly discovered a new fondness for Abhishek Bachcan. Although he won’t forgive Vivek Oberoi, Salman is more than willing to embrace Abhishek like a younger brother. “I’m very fond of Abhishek,” Salman tells all his friends these days. And so he won’t hear a word against Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya Rai either.

As we had reported, even on Katrina’s birthday party, the argument between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman got serious when Shah Rukh passed some stinging comments about Aishwarya.

According to an eyewitness, after the ugly spat at the party, Salman has been heard telling his friends, “Whatever happened between Ash and me is over. I’m really fond of the Bachchans. Abhishek is a buddy and I really like him. I won’t have anyone speak badly about his wife.”

Our source says further, “Earlier, ever since his breakup with Aishwarya, Salman had been obsessing about her before all their mutual friends.

Salman would deliberately seek out people who were close to Aishwarya and endlessly ask questions about her and narrate his woeful tales about how badly she treated him. There came a time when friends who knew them both started avoiding him.”

But now apparently things have changed. Our source adds, “Salman has gotten over Aishwarya and is quite protective towards her. He doesn’t allow anyone to talk against her.”

Salman is now very proud of his association with the Bachchans. Says the source, “He proudly tells people how Jayaji used to say, ‘Aishwarya looks the best on screen with Salman’.

Though Salman is extremely fond of the Bachchans and now considers Ash an integral part of that family, he won’t ever be paired with her professionally.”

Salman told a friend, “She publicly said she won’t work with me. I’ll never work with her either.”

Having exorcised himself of all anger and bitterness about the broken relationship, Salman is seen to be in a happier space vis-à-vsis Aishwarya Rai.
