Ladakh monks take Sallu for a ride!

It seems Salman Khan is famous even in the remotest parts of the country. While shooting for Sameer Karnik’s Mera Bharat Mahaan in Ladakh, monks from several monasteries went out of their way to show Khan around their abode!

Says Dino Morea, who accompanied Salman on his journey to the Thiksey and Spituk monasteries in Ladakh and Leh, “We were shooting for Mera Bharat Mahaan there, when one day Salman wanted to go sightseeing and visit some monasteries. So we (Dino, Salman and Dino’s brother Santino) hired three bikes from the locals and rode down to the monasteries. Mithunda (Chakra-borty) followed us in his car. It was freezing cold, but one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had.”

Once at the monasteries, the monks gave the star pack a guided tour. “They appeared to recognise us, especially Salman. They must have seen some of his films. The monks went crazy on seeing Salman and gave us royal treatment.”

At the monasteries, the stars looked at several Buddha artifacts and even a Mahakaal temple. “At one monastery, we went for a long walk around the complex chanting a prayer. They said if we do that, our day would go well and wishes would be granted,” says Dino, who adds that he is an extremely religious person with unshakeable faith in God.

Body beautiful

Currently, Dino is taking heavy medication thanks to a viral infection. “It’s on its way out, but my only problem is that I haven’t been able to play football at the American School in Bandra for the last few days,” rues the actor.

Footie fans

Apart from Dino, Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Kelly Dorje and Shah Rukh Khan play football there together almost every other weekend. “It’s a weekly routine that I’ve been indulging in for the last five years,” says Dino.
And when is he getting his six-pack abs? “I’m the original six-pack hero (laughs loudly)! I don’t need to get one now. I keep fit through sports like football and basketball. I have always had one of the fittest bodies in the business,” laughs Dino.
